How does the trigger guard come off?  Remove both roll pins?  Isn't one spring loaded?  Isn't there a danger of bending the arms that hold the guard to the receiver?

Thanks.

the front is a spring loaded detent, just use a punch to push it in and swing it down.  There is a risk of breaking the ears off on the rear where the roll pin is.  It helps to have a properly sized (1/8") roll pin punch with the nub on the tip to keep it centered.  Be sure to brace the ears against a wood block, hardcover book or something while you tap it out.  Don't hammer on it real hard, just use repeated light taps and periodically check that the ear is braced and the pin is moving.  Take it easy man.

Agree with above post.

Ideally, you will have a "bench block" or similar implement with a hole into which the roll pin can be driven.  A 2x4 with a hole drilled through it may be substituted.  The block will be in direct contact with the "ear" of the lower in order to provide the support that will prevent it's being broken off.
