Well. I did it yesterday, bought my first AR 15..It is a DPMS Lite 16. It may be a week or so before I shoot it. I am thinking about using Black Hills 60 spiral point and of course I am open to any and all ammo suggestions. I have numerous other guns but just never caught the fever for the AR...until now...I want to use the best ammo that I can afford, so any and all opinions will be appreciated..

Well, as you are going to find out, ammo is pretty expensive these days.

Remington UMC, while certainly not premium ammunition, is pretty economical and good for practice in my opinion.

The Winchester stuff in the plain white box is pretty good.

You are going to hear a lot of pros and cons about "Wolf" ammo on this site, and people seem to get pretty passionate regarding their opinions about it.  Myself, I don't use it.

Congratulations on your new AR.  Now register and vote your guns!
