I have read quite a bit of the existing threads pertaining to optics as well as looking at hundreds of different scopes. I have come to the conclusion that for the money ($800 - $1000) that the Trijicon 4x tactical scope is a really good choice and I'm now looking to guys for any feedback good or bad before I make the leap.
Thanks all for help

Not just good, but great.  Some of the best glass I own, and the best I've used in low power optics.

the best optic I have ever seen/used. cant break, cleat, tough, simple, light,  I just cant say enough great things about them. I have 2!

I love my TA31DOC ACOG, wouldn't trade it for anything else.

If you might need some eye relief the TA11F 3.5x35 ACOG is a really quality sight.

If it helps any my TA31RCO-M4 can be used like a regular scope or like an Aimpoint
as well. Very versatile sight.

Any of you guys have an Aimpoint with a 3x magnifier and how does that compare to this?

anything trijicon makes will stand up to what ever you can throw at it.

as for the ACOG, we got a few just as i was on the way out. after talking to several of my close friends who used them in combat i was sold. i'm now stashing money for the 6x.

i love me some trijicon

the TA31F is as close as i've some to using a "do it all" type optic. it is an incredible scope.

Agreed.

The TA31RCO is essentially the same scope, but with horizontal mil lines added to it.

if the scope is designed for a 20" barrel what is the downfall for using it on a 16.5

Great optics.. I'm saving up for one as we speak.

Can't go wrong with an ACOG.  I have the TA31F on my primary AR.  And a TA01NSN on one of my plinkers.  Lifetime guarantee, never needs batteries.

Only when using the BDC  It will zero just fine.  Even then the amount it will be off is minimal.

Good post, great looking rifles in here :)

I guess I should have clarified my statement a bit more. I just figured it would go
without saying the zero would hold true if you sighted it in...

I've had lot's of people ask questions that I would never think to ask because I'm so familiar with the optic.  I just didn't want anyone to think the optic couldn't be used on that barrel length.  No worries my friend.

I had an Eotech, liked it alot, wanted to have a bit more magnification and got the Aimpoint 3x.  works great...

however, I also had a TA33 for my 6.8 and in the end, and after comparing low powered variables decided to stick with the TA33 and got a 2nd for my 5.56

now, I am not kicking in doors or defending my home with either (shotgun or pistol serves that role) so, take that into consideration, for very, very close stuff I don't think the ACOG would be my first choice, but for 30-200 yards and for hunting and having fun, they are great..

I completely understand, I should have gone into more detail.
