I have a full auto bolt carrier. Is it illegal to put that into a civilian firearm? I seem to recall that retailers are selling full auto BCGs now. As long as the lower hasn't been converted to semi/fa whats the problem? Am i completely off the wall or????? Please advise ****EDIT*** I should've searched before i typed. The problem is, i'm having an M4 upper put together w/ used parts i have. I called the gunshop today (Kirk's Gunshop in El Paso, TX) and the guy was freaking out on me saying it was illegal and i would be possessing an NFA. I tried to tell him different, but he swore up and down that it was in his little book. I thought maybe I had bad information but i guess not. |
I don't see where it says on the 2nd page that it's legal to put a M16 BC in an AR15. |
since you obviously can't read or are too lazy to do so or are some form of a lawyer and like to argue: from page 1: "In your faxed letter, you seek clarification regarding the use of M16 machinegun bolt carriers in AR-15 type weapons" from page 2: "if this installation were to create a firearm that fires automatically, it would be a machinegun as defined; converse if it DID NOT result in the production of a weapon that shoots automatically, it would be LAWFUL TO POSSESS AND MAKE" |
