Who makes a good 16" Mid-length barrel that is NOT stainless steel?

What would you use for a Recce mid-length build if you had to use chrome lined?

I need the hive minds help on this one!

Sabre Defence makes a killer midlength barrel.

Love mine.

I chose CMMG for my middies.

Sabre Defence also offers a good one.

+1 for CMMG. I have one of their 16" mid-length uppers.

Armalite makes a mid length medium taper barrel. This looks attractive to me especially with a nine twist as I shoot 55gr. ammo.
I would have thought more responses would be describing Armalite in threads like this one.

I have one.  Chrome lined.  Nicely finished.  Nice price.  Accurate.  I shoot 55 gr. also, and find that they lose accuracy in 1/7 twist.  I think people shy away from Armalite barrels because many enamored with 1/7 twist as the military standardization.  And I guess in an EOTWAWKI scenario, one might actually find a supply of military ammo somewhere.  But for shooting at the range on Saturdays, 1/9 is more accurate with 55 gr. ammo.

I would say Sabre for sure. Definately Denny or other custom shops are going to have great barrels.  Armalite and RRA are both good.  If you think CMMG is good  keep track of thier industry forum.  the bad threads don't last long, but there have been plenty of them.

I'm in the same boat you are. I can't decide between denny's operator or the armalite barrel for my build. I know I want a med contour and chrome lined. I really want the operator barrel but I can't decide if I want to spend that much. CMMG also makes one I'm interested in but due to recent negative feedback I'm shying away from them. I would also like to know what others think.

Wait for Denny's operator barrel. You will not be disappointed.

I am by no means an operator, but my M4 (ish) profile mid length Armalite barrel (on a matched Mega upper/ lower), with a MI free-float quad rail, has me happy.
