I'm wanting to put a good quality trigger in my SDMR and i'm not sure what to go with.  What do you guys recommend?  Timney, JP, McCormick??  What are the pros and cons of each?  Single or two stage?  Help!

I'm fond of the Geissele Hi-Speed, and have them on several of my AR's: carbines and SPR's. They're highly adjustable, and a very light/crisp 2nd stage can be readily set.

I had been quite content with the RRA two stage trigger until trying the Geissele, but found the difference was night and day. Sort of like the difference between a Buick and Mercedes.

I like the simplicity and feel of the Timney 4lbs. I'm sure it's not everyones cup of joe but I really love em'.

After trying a few I settled on the Chip McCormick single stage drop in. I like the trigger but the recall has been a pain. I got one back now, and sent the second one in recently.

If you buy one now, I'm sure you would get an "updated" one without need of recall.

I also think the Timney unit would be okay.

My experiments have included Jard single stage and two stage adjustables and non-adjustables, Timneys, LMT two stage non-adjustables, Chip McCormicks, Geissele High Speeds and the Geissele SSA two stage non-adjustable. My overall favorite is the Geissele SSA, and I plan to switch more lowers to them as they become available. The LMT two stage is not bad, but once the SSAs are more common they'll have that market niche. For a single stage the Timneys are the best in my experience, but for the money the non-adjustable Jard single stage FCGs are good and have proven quite reliable over many thousands of rounds. I wouldn't bother with the other Jards, though.

Drop-In AR15 Match Trigger Module from the Chip McCormick Corporation; to save you reading all 6 pages, they had doubling/accidental full-auto problems with the Gen Is and pulled them from the market, came back to the market with the Gen IIs and had yet more doubling/accidental full-auto problems and recently had a factory recall.

I didnt like the excessive overtravel (they claim it's match grade but it aint in my opinion) and they've even had 'doubling' issues on their latest GENII design.  When specifically asked if the doubling issue found in the GEN I design was fixed in their GENII product, they claimed (see posting in the new products area of this website ) that there were no issues but they then promptly issued a recall on the product.  They never came back on here to retract their bogus information.   It certainly doesn't instill confidence in the product or the company.

I personally believe there are far better products and companys out there.
