I have a RRA with carry handel. If I remove the carry handel for optics, and buy a flip up rear site will I also have to replace my front site as well?? I like the iron sites on theRRA but I am wanting something more tactical. I am wanting a fighting weapon for short distance and for far.  I am prepared to buy another rifle and put a glass scope on it and have one with glass scope and one with maybe a red dot. I dont know wether to fix up my RRA or keep it like is and add a scope to carrt handel. It shoots so well I hate to mess with it. I found a dpms that has the tactical forearm and other goodies. I mean it is ready for everything, has flip up sites, but will it shoot as well as my RRA. I just am panicked cuz I hear so much about a banning soon.  I gues what I am asking, should I fix up my RRA with a tactical railing and light, and optics, or keep it like is and add scope to handel and get the dpms that has already been customized and add to it???

thanx

Nothing like a simple rifle with a carry handle, but if you do decide to go with a rear BUIS, you do not have to do a thing to your front sight except maybe adjust your elevation.

An ACOG is pricey but sounds like a good solution to what you're looking for, or an Aimpoint/EOTech with 3x magnifier.

I am more than satisfied with my BUIS and a 1x Aimpoint.

I keep telling myself I'm going to build a KISS AR-15, and everytime I try, an optic pops out of nowhere

I have an M16A4gery and an M4gery back home.  Alongside those is an Aimpoint Comp M2, EOTech 512, carry handle, ARMS #40 flip up BUIS, Matech flip up BUIS, and now I want an ACOG for the M16A4gery.  I don't even know what to do with what I have!!  I really want to keep the A4 with a carry handle but I'm so tempted to put an ACOG or an Aimpoint on it.  I guess we'll see what happens when I get back to the states and can actually experiment.  (I have a knockoff Aimpoint on my M4 back home currently).

Ohhhh the possibilities.

That's only 50% of the decisions.  Here's the M4gery with the knockoff.

I'd upgrade your RRA rifle. Personally I don't like DPMS stuff very much.  If you run a ARMS #40 it would work out just fine with your RRA.

Here's my RRA with KAC RAS, Aimpoint Comp ML2, ARMS #22M68 mount with spacer, Arms #40L. It's the perfect setup for me. I'ts excellent for close range and it works just as fine at 100yds.  Good all around configuration.

Nice build!  That's almost EXACTLY how I'm planning for my M4 to look if I put the Aimpoint on it.  Considering the EOTech for the M4 though and the Aimpoint for the A4 as partially mentioned above.  Also, I have the cantilever mount as opposed to the regular spacer.

Also, I forgot to directly mention above, I agree with fullauto4u on upgrading your RRA.
