why is this better??? i was acctually thinking of saving up and getting anice set of quick detachable rings. any suggestions?? and that is a tasco 6-24x42 varmite target, with mill dot reticle. very clear glass, and nice to shoot. positive clicks and really good return to zero. i love it, and at under 100.00$ at dicks sporting goods, cant be beat. well, i know there are better, but its good glass for an affordable price. |
It's just reversed, the buckle that allows you to use it as a 3 point sling needs to be in front |
thank you. its now fixed... |
less things that can get loose. |

Good looking set-up. The more I see the 18" rifles the more I want to build one. I already have an accurate 24" varmint and S&M MP15T with ACOG that get the job done and an old A1 uppered that is KISS. As to rings, I used Leupold Med. height QD rings on my varmint upper (use A2 stock) and it is just right for head placement. I have also used Warne QD rings in the past on bolt guns and they worked great too. Off to the planning board

somewhat of a range report... i was able to go out and shoot just alittle today. i had a couple boxes of ULTRAMAX 55 grn SP's. these shoot around 1 MOA in my old colt hbar, 1/9. i was shooting at 50 yards to sight in, and they were shooting great. about a 3/4 inch group. not bad for remanufactures, 9.00 a box ammo. but when i shot them at 100 yards, my groups opened a litttle. to about 6 inches... same thing happens with remington umc 55 grn MC's. good group at 50 yards, but 100 yards is a no go, with bullets going everywhich dirrection. i only had a couple reloads with me, 1, 75 grn amax, which hit bullseye at 75 yards, and about 10, 60 grn v-max's, and 5, 55 grn v-maxs. of the v-max and the 1 amax, bullets, all shot into one tiny little group. i like it!!! ill be doing a lot more reloading and ill get back to ya. any opinions on why the 55 shot so good a 50, but sucked it up at 100??? |
