Why would you want a low mass hammer and what kind of AR profile/setups are they use in?

Faster lock time. Used in precision rigs. Stick with something like the Geissele high speed and your GTG. I wouldnt try to lighten a stock one and use it for your SHTF weapon.

What do you mean by faster lock time, like it faster striking the firing fin. Because when I think of lock time, I think about the bolt locking behind the locking lugs in the chamber.

Lock-time is the time between the trigger break and primer ignition.

A Geissele Hi-Speed trigger is designed to reduce this time.

You can cut the rear tail off a std. AR hammer and use a Extra Power Hammer Spring from Wolff Gunsprings, if you like a DIY project.
