I was wondering if CMMG's quality was up to par with other major manufactures, such as Armalite, RRA and Bushmaster?

Yes.

Just curious, are they held up to the same military standards that Bushmaster is?

I don't think Bushy is totally up to military standards. I would give advantage to CMMG in quality.

Do military standards specify any special treatment to the inside of the upper recievers other than the standard black teflon coating that is applied to the whole reciever, inside and out?

The Teflon is applied after they are hardcoat anodized as per Mil-A-8625 if that's what you're asking. Bushy's are nice guns but CMMG offers more of the cool "mil-spec" features than Bushy like F stamped FSB, M4 feed ramps, 1/7 twist & chrome lined bore & chamber, M stamped upper receiver. Not necessary semi-auto range gun but many many folks desire these features nonetheless. They are very nice guns & I decided to make them my primary as my duty guns.

CMMG is good stuff, have one of their lowers- the fit and finish is great. I also have one of their 18" midcon bbls which is an absolute tack driver.

CMMG is GTG

CMMG is not at the same quality standards as the top tier mfgs.  I know from experience.  They're roughly equivalent to the ones you listed.  I'm too lazy to rehash it here.  Search if you really want to know, the info is available.

Good quality and features that most others don't offer.

Just built up a CMMG lower with one of their parts kits.  Went together with no problems and the finish is outstanding.  Trigger feels a lot better than the last RRA kit I used.

I've used their barrels for a few builds over the last 3 years. I've never had an issue.
Despite what some may say, their stuff has performed as well as my "top tier" stuff has so far.

I built there lowers and have an upper from them. It's been all quality from them for me. WarDawg

I've found no difference in the other "top tier bs" ARs/M16s that I've used over the years.

I know when they first started out , their stuff was mostly made by DPMS, which is why I never bought anything from them.  Don't know about now though....

I love mine, I'd put it on par with my Bushmaster easily.  Might not be as good as a Colt or Novsky, but it's got a couple of k through it without issues and I trust it.

They were vendors of DPMS products. They are parts assemblers like most manufacturers are these days but IIRC they machine their own barrels from blanks & a few other propriety items.

+1 Bushy not the best in QC compare to Colt or LMT I would say CMMG is par for the course!

My CMMG M4 is as good as you could ask for, and has all the features folks are
demanding these days .  I got mine in a trade, so I can't tell you about prices.
If their product was a basket case....you'd hear about it here; BYA !

It depends on what you expect from it.  I expected the uppers to run out of the box.  I've owned one that didn't and seen other issues that would lead to functional problems.  If its a range gun, then it doesn't matter.  In that case, any of the one mentioned would be fine.

My upper was/is flawless and runs great.

My customer service experience was less than positive.  Too bad.  CMMG's selection is pretty good.  Do a search.  There are several threads about their customer service.

There are plenty of other decent AR vendors out there so I spend my money elsewhere.

Bushy always has been Famous for the canted front sights. That and the bad gas key stake jobs they do. Good thing is their Customer Service has always been top notch and they will fix it at no cost to the owner with free shipping to and from Bushmaster.
