Does anyone out there thread the Rear Takedown Pin Hole to make it a Set Screw captured Spring & Detent ?

Someone around here had a “write-up” with illustrations on how to perform this mod, but I no longer know where it is. Probably in the archives.

4-40 tap, cut the detent spring the lenght of the 4-40 set screw, or you'll never get the takedown pin to budge. its a solution for a problem that doesent exist. I change stocks around depending on my mood and its just one thing less to worry about.

I don't think you really mean 'thread the rear takedown pin hole'. I think you mean 'thread the hole the spring and detent that capture the take down pin go in'.
