I heard some guy talking about a "solid ejector" for AR one time.  He said it improved reliability somehow.  Course, I don't know how that would work b/c if the ejector is solid (like instead of w/ a spring???) how will move in and out of the breech face???

Is there such a thing and how does it work and is it worth a damn and where can one get one?

It would require a complete redesign of the bolt and bolt carrier.

There are none available.

The guy was misinformed.

The only soldi ejectors are for 9mms. The ejector is stationary mounted in the receiver or magwell block.

thanks guys.

What about any improved ejector springs, like something that is higher strength or something?

ejection is not the problem, usually, it is the extractor

The AK has a fixed ejector.  Its a piece of metal welded to the frame and becomes part ot it.  When the carrier and bolt move back it hits the casing where an AR ejector would hit.  Since the other parts ar emoving back it is moving forward in relation to it.  Cant be done on an AR15 with aluminum receiver.

+1 on the extractor comment.  Still, they are pretty tough.  Easy to replace and cost about $5.  Just need the bolt thinnnngy tool from Brownells.  PS if u need one get the one that can handle bolt action rifle bolts (it does AR bolts as well).

Somewhat challenging with a rotating bolt as well.
