Just bought a Bushmaster A3 style AR, and I want to moutn some optics, bushmaster told me if I purchased a 3x scope I can mount directly on where the handle mounts now and I will not have a problem with the fornt sight getting in the way, is this true?

If you're mounting directly to the flat top with a 3x you may see a portion of the top of FSB depending on the height of the mount but it shouldn't be an issue. I'm assuming you have a flat by your mention of the A3? You will see what the powered optic is seeing at the distance it's powered to. This means you'll obviously be looking far past the length of any rifle the optic's mounted to.

Magnifying optics refract light in such a way that close objects, unless they are fairly large, will become invisible. You will probably need some sort of risers to get your scope to fit, so you may be looking just over top of the front sight anyway.

yes it has a removeable handle so I would be mounting to top rail
