Built a Mega lower and wondered if the magwell is really tight on all the Mega lowers. It's a great lower, they seem to have great attention to detail. This has been my only complaint about the lower. Mags (GI aluminum) will not drop free from the weapon. My Beta mag almost needs pryed out of the magwell. Anyone else have the same issues with Megas?

Any thoughts on the best way of fixing the problem (short of getting a refund on the lower)? I thought about sanding inside the magwell , but dont want to compromise the anodizing.

3 of my guns use Mega lowers. Due to the Teflon-based top coat they apply over the anodization, I would imagine it makes things a little tight at first until things get worn in. All my USGI, Magpul, and Lancer L5 mags drop free from all 3 Mega receivers.

Inserting & extracting the mags several times until they begin to wear the magwell in specific areas to loosen up the fit better until they drop free might help but some lowers are just a little out of spec being to begin with. I've not had these issues with my Mega though. Mags will wear in any magwell with use but this method may or may not solve your issue but it's a start.

It might be worth giving Mega a call, if its way out of spec, they can rebuild it.

I would not be satisfied with a lower that will not drop mags free. One of my lowers is a bt tight. 2 outta 12 c products mags I bought would not drop free so I gave them to a friend who did not have this issue. 1 of the mags is a total pos that binds up when I load past 22 rounds. I am satisfied with 9 of thier mags but will not be going back for seconds. I will stick w/ d+h or ok mags from now on.

Pmags drop just fine from mine. You also may want to see if the mags will drop while loaded vs. dropping an empty mag.

Just got one and pmag will not drop free either.  Also compared to my other lowers, the angle at which you insert a mag has to be precise.  Whats the deal
