Okay, so I want to buy a 6920 to set aside for a rainy day. I don't have the funds right now, and I am averse to running up a tab on my credit card as well. The point is, I heard that Colt is no longer making them anymore, and that If I want to get one, I gotta jump on something right away no matter what it takes. Is this true? Will I be out of luck very soon? Should I just go ahead and take the plunge before they are history?

I'm not interested in all of the ins and outs of why I should just buy a Noveske, cool-aid comments etc., just want to know if the rumors are true and if I should just get it done now.

Thanks

The availability of that line of Colt rifles tends to run in cycles and as such are more or less, well, available. I got one with no trouble in two days from Clyde Armory last November for $1229. They are currently listed on their web site as "Inbound" for $1349. I would choose a reputable vendor and get on their waiting list now or scour gunshows and the classifieds here and elsewhere until I turned one up. Here is a linky: www.policeguns.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=16_236&osCsid=2f322a665ba76b2848d5bd0c356cf0b3

Thanks for the info, I think that is what I needed to hear. So Colt isn't not making them anymore, they just manufacture them in cycles? So the chance of picking one up over the next year is pretty good? Just dont want to miss my window.

And thanks for the linky

keep an eye out on the EE, and several other websites (sturmgewehr for one) and you'll find one.  There's one right now for $1395.
