I got a UTG Leapers 4X20 model 15 Mini scope, w/ Mil-dot riticle. How is the Bullet Drop Compentator used? Its a knob on top that has 5 settings and reads YDS X 100.

I guess the difference between UTG and more expensive optics is the inclusion of a manual with instructions on how to use the various features...

Example, zero the rifle at 100 yds with the scope set to 1 (x 100 yds).

Now, if you shoot at 200 yards, simply dial the scope to 2 (x 100 yds), and hold right on.

To shoot at 300 yards, dial the scope to 3 (x 100 yds), and hold right on.

Etc.

keep in mind it's probably set to the ballistics of your typical airsoft pellet.

Oh ok I see... I usually zero irons @ 50yrds... big difference if I zero the scope for 50 yrds on the 1 (x100 yrds) setting?

So with this comepsator whats the purpose of the mil-dot reticle?
