Hi Guys. I joined this forum with the hopes of gaining a little information prior to purchasing my first AR. A lot of really good people were more than willing to answer my questions and a couple of guys went above and beyond to help. Without their help, I know I wouldn’t have been able to gather the information that was used to determine which rifle was best for my needs. I want to personally thank Jeff (aka USMC03). This guy has been awesome. The knowledge that he has from first hand experience is more than I will ever hope to have in six lifetimes. He has been more than willing to spend hour after hour answering my questions about this and about that. Its not very often you run into people that are so happy to pass along their experiences to help others. I have already asked him 100’s of questions and he answers each of them like I am the first and only one to ask. Again, thank you very much Jeff! More questions to come I am sure. Anyway, here it is. My first AR-15. A Colt A3 6721. Just out of the box. http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg66/drkvorkian/3.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg66/drkvorkian/2.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg66/drkvorkian/1.jpg |
Congrats! ![]() Welcome to the Black Rifle Disease. That's a great first AR, my former first AR was also a Colt and after many rifle and carbine Colts later I never had any problems with them. My current favorite Colt is the same model as yours, I specially like the "AR-15 A3 Tactical Carbine" rollmarks. If you don't have a sling for it yet I would suggest getting the Blue Force Gear Vickers 2 point sling which myself and a lot of other members here are very satisfied with. Get lots of mags and ammo, have fun with it. |
| I havent purchased any goodies for it yet, but Jeff has me pretty well outlined on some future purchases, including the Vickers sling. I also plan on an EMOD stock, ML3 Aimpoint, some Pmags, etc etc. I will keep you guys updated on the latest and greatest, thanks again for all the help. |

Great choice. But now the major spending starts. You must have at least 10 30 round magazines. No less than 3000 rounds of ammunition, 30 pounds of tactical accessories, and that just for each rifle. You are going to want to try out different calibers, build your own rifle from scratch, etc. The fun has just started, welcome to the sickness. |
