Congrats on a nice rifle and welcome to the site!

I'd recommend you read up a bit on the AR-15 platform to familiarize yourself with how it works and the versatility of this great rifle.
Patrick Sweeney has written a couple great books on the AR; vol 1 covers the basics, vol 2 is an updated version that also introduces new manufactures and configurations.

I recommend vol 1 here (click )

Most questions can be answered in the book, or here on arfcom. Learn to shoot through iron sights, and keep her clean.

weather here has been crappy so ive only been able to pop out about 40 rounds but i see why these things are so popular. im in ohio so im used to the old 12 gauge deer guns and muzzle loaders so this is a big change but im hooked.

Oh, by the way, get lots of mags and ammo. I'm still trying to save up for a good training course. Thats about the best non-specific advice this place gives out. Again, enjoy.
