I recently purchased aa almost new 6920 , I was wondering why there is only one sling swivel forward of the handguard on the gun.It looks like there's a bracket for a bottom swivel but only the side swivel is present . Anyboy know why ?

I believe it's a MIL-SPEC thing even though it's not a MIL-SPEC carbine.  It's a close semi auto, 16inch copy of the U.S. M-4 and that carbine has one as well.

There is one forward of the hand guard and one on the bottom of the butt stock

The Mil-Spec for the carbine (down-loadable from this site) states that the swivel must be attached to the  barrel between the front sight legs (and not to the fwd sight structure).  It doesn't state that the swivel must be a side-swivel, however. To provide a bottom swivel, and still meet the barrel attachment requirement, would require a different clamp. I believe that Pete is correct in that its a carry-over to the 6920 from the Mil-Spec requirements. There is a swivel attach point on my 6920, but it's on the sight base.

Ok  , thank you for the information , however on my RRA it has TWO front swivels , one on the side and one on the bottom . In front of the handguard . On the 6920 there is only one swivel on the side . It seems to have a bracket for the bottom swivel but the swivel itself is absent on my gun .

I think we have the same thing.  My 6920 has a side swivel, clamped to the barrel as I said.  The front sight base also has a location on the bottom which looks like it would accept an additional swivel pin, but I don't think that both a side swivel, and lower swivel could be installed at the same time without interfering with each other. Don't know anything about the RRA  sight/swivel configuration.  My other Colt rifle, and BM carbine both have lower swivels, pinned to the front sight base, with no provision for a side swivel.

This is the typical Colt M4 sling arrangement. It provides for a "ready carry".

Could it be that with the lower swivel in place, a M203 Grenade launcher could not be fit?

Good point.  Hadn't thought of that.  The swivel itself would probably be OK, but if a sling were in place on the lower swivel, it would be at least awkward.

Added:  The reference "Black Rifle II" states that the sling swivel is on the side (can be either side) exactly for that reason.

If your sling got in front of the M203's barrel.......

+1 - the LE6920, like the M4, has no lower swivel due to the M203.

Just my $.02: per Crane's SOPMOD manual, when running a RAS/RIS forend, the side sling swivel should be re-installed so the swivel can lay completely flat toward the muzzle.

This is to accommodate KAC rail panel installation/removal on the swivel side.
