I bought this AR today but I guess I didn't look close enough at it. I thought this hole was just a dimple but it goes though all the way and you can see the bolt. Is there a reason why it was put there and is it safe to fire? I was going to test it tomorrow and just want to be sure. I plan on putting an A3 upper on it anyways.

I would guess someone drilled it to put a padlock in to keep his kids from shooting the cat. oz
