Has anyone used one of these spring kits for the standard single stage AR triggers that can give some feedback??

I bought the springs and put them in a Stag lower with a stock trigger group.  The only mods on my triggers are polishing the face of the trigger bar.

Many misfires and light primer hits.  It's a nice light trigger, but too inconsistant for me.

Went back to the stock AR springs.

If I knew where those JP springs were I'd send them to you for free.  I think they're buried in the "failed experiment box" in the garage.

If your going to use those springs with a Mil-spec trigger group you should use a speed hammer or lighten up your stk hammer so the lighter springs can move it faster and make up for the removed hammer mass. After either one of these options you should no longer experience weak primer strikes leading to misfire. I use them in a couple different rifles with stk parts and remove portion of the back side of the stk hammer and never experience any problems. In some cases the lighter springs just cant move the stk hammer fast enough to hit the firing pin with enough shit to detonate. On everything else I use complete JP trigger sets with speed hammer , light weight springs and oversized anti-walk pins for a really nice set-up. Hope this helps. If you have any problems give those guys a call and they will be glad to help you. Have a great day..

I used the JP fire control kit for about a year in my 3 gun rifle. I never had any problems in several thousand rounds. The kit comes with a lighter hammer. Not sure if that makes much of a reliability difference. I ended up switching to a McCormick drop in.

Thanks for the input guys, this was what I was afraid of.  I thought that maybe the spring kit would be a good swap. But I was wondering if guys were having ignition problems, and it looks like it may happen.  Looks like I will stay away.

+1 Need JP low mass hammer for best results.  With all the right parts, it is an awesome 3# trigger.  I have over 6K rounds on one with no problems and any damn ammo you can imagine.  No light primer strikes here.

Since they cost very little and are easy to install you should try a set in your rifle. I have used them over the years with regular trigger set ups and have had no problem and they really helped the pull . They were a big improvement in accuracy. I had light hits in one rifle out of 4 .  http://www.jprifles.com/4.1.php   You can order those direct

I dont know what kind of ammo you all are shooting...but I have a two full JP kits (springs and hammers) and and 3 sets of springs only, and I have none of the issues described above.

One of my spring only kits uses my own speed hammer (just cut the tail off of your hammer).  No problems.  I 3 Gun three of these rifles so they go through hundreds of rounds per month.

The only problem I have had that can be blamed on the springs is that they are not strong enough to strike .22's in my Ciener kit.

Otherwise its the best $10 trigger job you can do to your rifle.

I'll take them.  I'll even pay the shipping.

you have to use a loss mass high speed hammer for them to work 100%. I just modified a factory DPMS hammer, its now looks like the JP Speed hammer. It took me about 20 minutes. I used the 3lb springs. I ended up getting a nice crisp 4lb trigger pull.

I have just the JP springs in 4 rifles,  after a few thousand rounds, I can't recall ever having a FTF in any of them.  Trigger pull dropped by 2 pounds down to 4.75 pounds when the trigger was still new.  I have not measured them since to see if they have lightened up any more now that they are more broken in.

I use the JP trigger springs and left the hammer spring factory. It works perfectly through 5K on one of my lowers using mixture of Radway, Lake City, and Wolf.

I just put the spring kit in my bushmaster ORC and had zero problems at the range.  And man does it make a difference in the trigger pull.  I polished the crap out of my trigger and sear to a mirror finish.  This really helped improve my groups with the rfle.
