I am interested in the Larue Tactical SSS for target shooting and varmint hunting out to 300 yards. This will also be my SHTF gun so I would also like to mount a tactical light.

What are the pros and cons of the 16 versus 18 inch barrels?

What handguard length would you recommend?

I am planning to mount this Larue upper on an LMT lower which has a standard buffer...will that work?

And finally, what does the Tactical SSS weigh with a 16 or 18 inch barrel?

16" is just fine for 300 yards

What handguard length would you recommend?

11" or more since it protects the gas block

Call Larue about the 18". My 16" weights about 5.5 lbs
