I just got my new STAG 15 Model 1 a few days ago and put about 150 rounds thru it yesterday and it performed perfectly. I bought a $20 bipod from cheaperthandirt.com and it had 34 really great reviews so I figured what the hell. Here is the link just for reference

So anyway I'm curious as to how this bipod mounts. I have the stock hand guard on my stag so it doesn't have a picatinny rail mount. Apparently you can mount this bipod with a swivel stud adaptor but I have no idea where that goes. Do I have to remove the bottom sling mount or something?

Here is the only picture I have of my stag so far so hopefully someone could help me out on mounting this bipod.

I believe what you are looking for is here

http://www.harrisbipod.com/HB5.html

I think the HB5 is what you are looking for. I have a Stag myself and got the harris bipod which has its own sling mount for after it is attatched. You have to remove the lower handgaurd and the stud fits through one of the holes.

Reading the description of your bipod tells me it should work, but looking at the pic I can't be positive.

Good luck.

Looks like it has a mount that goes between the lower handguard and lower heatshield, and has the mounting nub popping through under the handguard...

I just took this picture to give you guys a better idea of what's going on. the picatinny rail mount is attached to the bipod in this picture and along side it on the right is the "swivel stud" mount and I'm not sure where this goes since I don't have a picatinny rail on my hand guard.

Hmmmmm.......The Harris actually mounts to a sling stud. It looks like yours mounts to a rail and then you can add the stud to it.  Unless there is a piece missing I just can't see how this would mount up to a stock hand gaurd. There has to be something to secure the stud to the underside of the handgaurd. Even from the pic in the add I could not see how the stud would mount anywhere. I could be missing something but you may want to look at the trimount rail on the same page.

Good luck.

I would say this one.

If you look at the one you linked, there is no rail on the bottom to mount a bipod.

(Sorry about having to copy the link, I forget hot to paste a hyperlink on the forum.)

I can't be 100% sure as I don't have one of these bipods, but that's how it looks to me.

My pleasure.........20 some years ago I was an M-16 expert...OK, maybe not an expert but lived with it on a daily bassis........Now I'm a newbie all over again.

It's funny that the rifle I called a piece of crap 20 years or so ago is now something I actually like.
