For the A2 all you need is a larger flat head screw driver. All you need to do is unscrew the top bolt in the rear of the stock, and slide the stock off. The buffer tube will still be on there. Unscrew the buffer tube (may be kinda hard at first) but keep your left thumb on the buffer retainer so it doesnt shoot out. Also do not lose the rear take down pin detent and spring which will come out the back of the lower when the stock comes off.

Once you have all the components of the A2 stock off screw in the reciever extention for your collapsible stock. Make sure to replace the take down pin detent and detent spring. The reciever plate holds those in place. The larger slots in the castle nut go to the rear of the rifle. The smaller ones are for securing the tube in place. Once the tube is almost screwed in all the way replaced the buffer retainer and spring. Hold them down and screw the tube in the rest of the way. Make sure the notch on the plate goes into the hole in the back of the lower, and then hand tighten the castle nut down.

I do recommend using a stock wrench but its not needed if you cant get one quick enough. If you have a pair of channel locks and a roll of masking tape you should be good to go. It doesnt have to be super super tight but tight enough the tube doesnt rotate at all.

Once the castle nut is tightened down take a 3/32 punch and stake at least two of the small slots in the castle nut to the end plate. Go slow, and keep a firm grip on the punch to keep it from jumping. I generally go at a 45 degree angle towards the plate from the rear of the rifle. Havent had a castle nut come loose in thousands of rounds of shooting.

Here is a pic of the staking:

Yes, but the wrench you need for the A2 buffer tube is just a normal open-end wrench.  Or an adjustable wrench.

Be careful removing the screw on the end of the A2 buttstock.  My bushmaster had a drop of lock tight on it, and it was a pain to remove.  Get a large flat head screw driver that fits the slot well.
P.S. My tele-stock wrench was only like 6 bucks from BM
