I purchased the AR upper during their tax time sale last year.
it has had under 200 rounds put through it, and shooting round number 46 today at the range it completeley bound up, the bolt was insanely hard to extract the shell, after some muscle put into it, the brass was able to be removed from the chamber, but the bolt still bound on something as it would not slide at all!
i took it apart, and removed the rear buffer, spring and tube, allowing me to remove upper from lower.. and low and behold the bolt is firmly stuck in there.
what could be causing this? will bushmaster make this right? the ar is pretty much brand new as it has under 200 rounds put through it, and less than a year old.

I am a little confused but, did you inspect it thoroughly and see if something is lodged in there?

pics would help.

i looked in every possible area i could, nothing looked out of place. I can move the bolt, but it takes some serious pounding to get it to move, which makes me hesitant to pound it any more as the charging handle already is bent, so i am not going to be pounding on that any more with the wooden dowel.
something must be lodged in there or broken as it will not move without considerable force.

I dont know what it could be, hopefully someone here will be able to help you out, if not I would go to a realiable gunsmith in town, or call/send it to Bushmaster.

One common one would be a loose primer jammed in there somewhere or a bit of the firing pin retainer.
