IR laser? A google search brought up a few videos, but no links on where to get one. I've been wanting one to use with my PVS14. Details?

These were made as incomplete modules by a guy in Michigan (the customer adds his own Pentagon light tail cap). I understand he had some sort of legal troubles and has suspended manufacture. I bought this one from a guy here on EE last month. You might check this link

Not to piss on your campfire here, but Junior used these in Iraq last tour. Was very, VERY unimpressed. Ended up getting a SureFire which (in his opinion) was much better built, more more effective and longer-lasting.

Important to note that I haven't shot with a can in more than three years, so this is secondhand info from a real live operator (Marine Recon).

You need to get the Crane markings laser engraved and a KAC flash suppressor.

My build in progress (couldn't get my feet in the photo so a sock will have to do)...

Damn, that's a nice build.  Beautiful.

Curious, what kind of sling is that?

It's a single point bungee sling I got at a local shop that specializes in AR-15s

When Surefire has 30K+ suppressors in service, over 10 years, then start making those commnets.

I have not seen many Surefire cans (only 4) but what does "better built" entail?  They all had really sloppy welds and a poor exterior finish.  The newest had welds that looked like dripping melted wax and the finish looked like it was done with the can upright and it was sprayed on too thick and had sagging flow lines where the finish sagged as it was drying.

I know they are supposed to be made of high end materials, the locking mechanism seems well made, and they are as good at reducing sound as any other suppressor but that "well made" comment just kind of jumped out at me and I wondered about it.

For an end user who did not know about the engineering in a Surefire or the lay person picking it up I would think that would be the last comment someone would make.  From a purely aesthetic perspective I have never seen any manufacturer who built cans that "appeared" as low of quality from the outside as Surefire.  I have seen sub $100 silencers with better fit and finish.

Hijack complete...
