Still new to the forum and I need your opinions and advice, as this may be my last AR for a while. I already have an M&P 15 and a Colt 6920. My dealer said he would suggest a Bushmaster M4A3 like the Colt. He just happens to have one that he got before the price increase (???), and it is $1000.00 out the door. So what do you all think? Thanks in advance for your help.

Spend the $1000 on ammo.

take the $1000 and use it to make a rifle from scratch and you can probably save about $300 to spend on ammo...

Save your $$$ for a Masada.
Or buy some ammo.

if you are looking for another AR, i'd look to a Varminter/accurized type rig

Take a look at LMT 14.5" M4 type carbine and have a Phantom flash suppressor permanently pinned, you could also buy it upper and lower half separately to save on taxes.

With the LMT you get a lot of Mil-spec features like the Colt, the receiver extension (buffer tube) are Mil-spec size so you don't have to replace them when you upgrade to a better Mil-spec type buttstock later on.

A precision AR is a good idea too because you already have two carbines, except the precision rifle will cost a lot more than a carbine.

I'd do one of two things.  Buy an LMT.  Save for the Masada.

That's still kinda high for a Bushmaster.  I've seen them several places for around $865 to $880 (online).  Plus, it's not going to do anything your other two ARs aren't going to do.  If you're getting another AR, why not get a different configuration.  A middy, or a lightweight, or something.

This is what I was thinking too. I'll pass on his deal. Thanks bigez.

Thanks to all. I'll continue my search with the ideas that you fellow AR'ers have given.

Have you checked out a Noveske Rifleworks N4 or any of their complete uppers?

With 2 5.56's you seem ready for a 9mm AR, check out the COLT 6450, cheap ammo and a blast shoot IMO.

These suggestions are just what I was looking for. I plan to give my M&P 15 to my son and replace it with a better AR.

Stand by...M&P 15 owner's will be in shortly to explain that there isn't a "better AR".

If you want to replace the M&P15 with a better rifle I would recommend LMT or the Noveske N4.  Either choice would do anything you asked of it reliably!  To be honest, I'd get a couple of cases of ammo instead!
