Cold night, idle hands, a parts box and a KISS rifle:

Let's have a look at that lower:

Fitting at the dawn of January, out with the old:

And in with the new:

As long as we're remodeling, a bolt catch and some KNS pins:

A shorty Entry stock:

And a laser/light and we're all refurbed for the HD role:

And that's the gun fun for tonight.

What is that, a 9mm?

.45 ACP

Also, a note for those installing that Timney trigger: put the safety selector in before you put the hammer and trigger pins in.

It's an LE Entry stock. I'll just have to see how it works for me.

I plan to sight the irons and the laser in at 25 yards.

So did you ever get a heavier duty workbench/table built?

Looks like a fun night.  I would be hesitant to rely on a laser that is mounted to standard handguards, especially for HD/SD, but then a pistol caliber rifle would not be my first choice either.  YMMV, my .02, etc...

After I cracked my table trying to get the barrel off a 6520 I did whip up an accomodation for a bolt down vise:

Still haven't finished that project, though.

It's really there for the light. I had it on an XD45, but I don't really like the laser sight on a handgun. We'll see how it goes.

Nice build!

Well, after shouldering it many times, I changed my mind about using that shorty stock; I don't know what I'll ever use it on. Fortunately I had a full length stock to go to:

I got a remote for the light today and I don't know if it's really an improvement over just moving the backplate switch with my finger or not. I've never used a light on a rifle before - guess it might take some acclimation.

Dude....that stock HAS to go!

Fuuuuuugggly!  Though...just my opinion.

ETA:  By the way...I got a new stock in the mail today as well.  Pics to follow in about 15 mins....stand by.
