I didn't read the article, but I'm going to assume what he meant was that his face was too close to the receiver and under recoil the entire rifle came back allowing the closed charging handle to hit him in the lip The charging handle will NOT fly back with the bolt because it actually seats in front of the bolt carrier group. (edited for boneheadedness) |
mike eta - As noted, I suspect the "nose-to-the-charging handle" method of firing an AR is abit rough on the lip with the big-bore ARs - and nope I wouldn't want to try it.....

Thanks for the replys.....I thought my CH was locked during firing, but not ever having fired one of those big dogs, I thought maybe the action was differant on them. h! I once saw a guy put his eye way too close to the scope on a Ruger M77 30.06 and it cut a nice half moon right below his eye! hock.gif |
