What is the effect of compensators like the KX-3 and Levang on the ability of bad guys to locate you by muzzle blast-- In other words, if you took a shot at a bad guy 100 yards away, would one of these comps make it harder for his buddy 50 yards to his side to locate the source of the shot? |
| Are you going to be shooting at bad guys? If you are, it's not too much of a concern since you need to be moving after you put rounds downrange, right? I don't think they make it any harder or easier for a perp to locate you unless they're using nod's. In my case, I don't notice much flash from KX3 at night & in confined or open areas. I don't own a Levang & I haven't had occasion to see one in action. |

I wonder if a compensator like the JP "tank" one would direct the sound signature left and right rather than forward or "on this spot is a shooter" compensator.... vs there is one with tubes facing forward, forgot the name which might direct the sound forward. Good question, have not seen it asked here. (or answered) |

With the JP break it still reports the flash pretty bad. Also is Loud as hell. However his buddy little closer won't matter since you will be able to be on target so fast due to no recoil you will dispatch him as well. On another note. These things are so loud that critters and small animals will go flying from the concussion into the next state. Think of Mr squirrel flying backwards ![]() Love mine but only use it when my neighborers piss me off. Otherwise I shoot suppressed. Wolf |
