I was recently given an older model Smith brake ( brake itself is new ) and am looking for imput prior to installing this on a 16" upper. Smith calls it their "NATO" Muzzle brake. Looks just like it should work fine, but we all know looks can be deceiving. I'm looking for a decent brake and the price was right. I know the .223/5.56 doesnt have much of a kick to begin with, but any improvement is a good thing. As I will only be shooting this set-up solo, I'm unconcerened with the well documented increase in noise to the sides.
Who has used this brake, and what are your opinions of it? All help appreciated.
