I have recently found a LEO Marked Bushmaster M4A3 NIB unfired at a pawn shop.  The owner told me he ordered it back in 2003 and put it in his safe.  It comes with a special case, 2 LEO marked 30 rd mags, and a cleaning kit.   Are the LEO marked rifles suppossed to be worth more?  Is there any collectors value to the markings?  Further, I assume there is always the factor of being hassled by .gov that might not be "in the know" about the laws.

Nothing special, price it as you would any other comparable AR.  All of mine have restricted markings they no longer apply

If any ".gov" is going to hassle you "for the markings", then my guess, they will be hassling you for the gun as well.

If the B'Master is in great shape and what you want, at the right price, pick it up.

Thanks for the replies...What would be a good price for a new bushy M4A3, 750-950?  Also, would this be a collectors item someday??

When a rifle has that stamp, how can a pawn shop/civilian get one? especialy a unfired one. Is it Pre-ban?

Because the assault weapons ban ended.  The stamp no longer applies unless your state laws suck.

So this rifle was built before the ban

No not before the ban if it is stamped it was built either during or after the ban.

After the sunset of the 94 Assault weapons ban these markings no longer mean anything however some manufacturers still stamp their rifles this way.  The stamp was placed on rifles due to the laws enacted in 1994.  So as to the age of a specifec rifle you would have to contact a manufacturer.  As far as the legality of owning one anyone can buy these rifles right now no matter if it is stamped or not.

The only thing I would look at is the barrel length. If it happened to be a 14.5" with an A2 FH on it, you'd have an SBR.  It's probably not an SBR though.

Never paid attention to the "export"  part of the markings.

I think it and the matching-marked mags is worth about $100 more than the same thing without the marks. I have a LE-marked Colt, and that's telling me it was built for LE/Gov contract, which means it works, no BS. Whether it means anything to some or not, it's cool to have the complete rifle from the maker like that rather than one built at home on a marked receiver. I believe they get a little more attention/tweaking before shipment.

I have a armalite with those markings and mags.  Id like to think they got a little more attention before leaving the factory too.  I was checking it out the other day and I noticed it did have the m4 feed ramps

The pawn shop is an FFL dealer, as well as a Bushmaster dealer.  They ordered the rifle new in ~2003 while the ban was still in effect.  The owner of the shop never sold the rifle to a LE agency, so now its available to the public.  BTW, thanks for all he replies.
