Is it possible to make an AR eject brass with the ferocity of an AK?

My buddies AK will toss brass 30 feet from the standing position.

I was wondering the same thing as to your original question.

The strength of the AR over the AK is that you can hurt the enemy with the bullets, rather than the ejected brass.

And here I was wondering if I could make mine stop tossing it 10-15 feet.  heh  Go figure.

I would imagine that if you can find a stiffer spring that goes under the stud on the bolt face, you'd get a more violent ejection.  I don't know how stiff you can go without causing feed & extraction problems, but I doubt it would hurt to experiment.

#1 the AK is over gassed, that equals a fast moving BCG.
#2 the fixed ejector on an AK doesn't give.

This all means the empties get the heck out of there in a hurry.

My SAR-2 throws the empties a good 30+ feet too. My SLR-106 throws the empties further than my ARs (will almost match the SAR when using hot 5.56 loads). It also beats the piss out of the brass. There's a visible dent in the case rim where the ejector hits and dents all over the case.

I know where you're coming from.  My brass is beat all to hell coming out of my AR pistol.  After the first session, I quit collecting my brass since most of it is too damaged to be reloaded.

Its a great way to clear a rifle range

In all seriousness, Its more of a curiosity. my 16" does a really good job of piling the brass up a couple feet away. I was just surprised at the ferocity that the AK spit out brass.

Then be happy you don't have to walk far to police up your brass!

If I can pitch them far enough, they will land in the weeds and be lost forever...

Hey if you really want to impress and clear the firing line to your right, get a HK91.  They make the AK look inadequate!

My brother shot out of the driver side window of a pickup with a HK 91 and cracked the windshield with the ejected brass.

My, now gone Mini-14 would toss them a LONG way.  Easily 30' if not more.
