Just wondering if Colt is still only selling thier lowers with sear blocks and oversized hammer, trigger, and take down pins? Just wondering if they ever came to thier senses.

Now that they have alot more competition than before they realized that nobody wants their "mil-spec" sear blocks, screw pivot pins, half-moon bolt carriers and gun registration schemes.  They got rid of those things not because they wanted to but because they were forced to by market conditions.

Maybe one day they will go back to mil-spec fire control pins.  But probably not as long as people here continue to buy them.

Exactly how many "AR" makers were there when Colt was catching crap years ago for selling "easily converted machine guns"? Colt did SOME of what they did so they COULD sell on the open market, other stuff not so much. Some of the original changes were pretty much forced on them so they could even sell them on the market.

I did not see other makers take all the crap Colt has over the years nor spend the money Colt has in defending themselves. Even beloved Bushmaster paid out to make the beltway sniper suit disappear, so much for their comittment.

Oversize pins are still there and they have their shelves set up so a F/A sear can't be dropped in just as almost everybody else but other then that, they have dropped the most PITA stuff now and are still one of the few that include a F/A carrier unlike most others.[LEO series]

Funny tho, I have a small pin, low shelf A2from around 90 tho. No sear block either.

When I see some of the companies spend the cash as Colt has defending their guns I'll give more of a s--t, til then, not so much, buy what you want, and I'll buy those unwanted and unloved Colts.

Of all the stuff to worry about with an AR, the FCG pins are pretty far down the list.  They have no affect on function, and hammer/trigger groups are available for both pin sizes.
If you want a Colt for other reasons,or not, do what ya' gotta do.  Don't sweat the pin size.

I agree that is one of the most assine reasons to knock Colt...I wonder how many of the Colt knockers will eventually sell their rifles if a ban takes place..and how many will be thinking.."if I only had a Colt"...Colt, just like HK willl ALWAYS bring more money...

Pretty sad when the only thing non Colt people can chime in about is FCG pins...

Just asked a simple question about pin specs and posters start reading more in to it than there was and get defensive. I wasn't knocking Colt, believe me if I was there wouldn't be any doubt. Like I said, some of the Colt guys seem a little touchy.
