I have a preban colt with a sear block, its the smaller side and only on one side. Is there a way to remove it and make it look like it was never there. I believe its forged aluminum so it can't be welded can it? any advice or links?

Welding aluminum can be done - but to do it right (like the pin holes were never there) would require some skill and refinishing.

Expensive yes.

Do I know people who can do it - yes, but they all work at DOD related contractors (i.e. not available for public).  I'd check with guys like Randall at Ar15barrels.com, Steve at Adco, or Kurt at Kurt's Kustom and see if they can help you.

If you have the block that is pinned on one side with the small pin, then you can remove the block and the pin will stay in the wall of the lower.  It is pressed in and will not come out.

I would send it to John Norrell.
