It is not quite complete. Still needs a few period correct items - sling, bayonet, a few small parts and an NDS A1 lower reciever. But, here it is nevertheless, my Model 603/M16A1 build. Parts are all Colt, save for the lower (stag, soon to be NDS) and LPK (CMMG) Very light weight, very accurate, and it functions flawlessly. I have run ~300 rounds through it so far and no malfunctions of any kind.

Doc, I'd spend 5 minutes telling you about how great your 603 looks, but I'd be praising my own as well... By all means, get the NoDakSpud lower; my A1 upper lived on a now-departed Colt lower; the NoDak really finished the job. Presume you refinished your A1 buttstock; the rack numbers aren't my taste (my old outfit didn't use them). What did you do to finish the stock? We used the OD nylon slings; got mine from Moore Militaria. 'Very light, very accurate, and it functions flawlessly.' Sez it all; enjoy! Moon |
