Ive noticed when an ar chambers a round the locking lugs leave small scratches on the bullets. Since the bullets alternate feeding from the left or right side of the mag these marks will be different every other shot thats fired. Has anyone done any tests to see if single loading a round into the chamber and letting the bcg slam it home has an increase on accuaracy?

I think you need to manually load it for any increase, if any. The AR is famous for accuracy as an auto loader..

Those scratches are from manually ejecting the round, not from when it's stripped off the magazine and chambered.

when you manually eject the round, the bullet is forced against the barrel extension lugs by the ejector.

nope i just tried extracting with my finger holding the bullet in till it passed the lugs and the marks are still there. Also tried single loading and holding the bullet and the marks are gone. They are very minor marks but when it comes to accuracy alot of times the minor things = major changes

Not quite sure of any accuracy gain. But I do know you have way to much time on your hands    j/k

Well with all the money people spend to get better accuracy i was just wondering if there is something to help that is FREE.

There is no significant effect.  Whatever effect there is, I guarantee you that you aren't enough of a shooter to notice it.

I can't speak for anyone else , but my AR groups better when I just load a mag and let the rifle do its thing than it does if I load each round manually. Not sure if it's got anything to do with the rifle itself , but that's what I have observed.
