If anybody is looking for an optic for their A4 clone checkout Optics agent. That's where I got mine and it was the cheapest that I can find.

Thanks for doing that, I need to get some editing software.  It's a tad blurRY as I was trying to snap a quick shot before the rain came down.  Now I just need to do an M4 copy to round everything out.

I've never had a weapon light before, but I think I'll need to pick a few up now.

If you really want to make that light even better get the Malkoff M61 led head. A thousand times better than the p60 lamp.

I did that to both of my m951 lights. The one on my A4 and the other one on my M4.

You got it brother.

I will also get the LED internals for my own Surefires; no doubt it'll make them so much better.
I have a question about your barrel: it appears to be glossy.
Is that so? It does remind me of futon's armory barrels.

I asked them about the gloss, they told me it was oiled and flash photography but I didn't quite believe them (Fulton)
That so for yours?

My barrel is nitrided.  I know its not 100% correct but close.  I didn't realize it when I ordered it.  Fortunately it's a shooter and close enough for the build for me.  If I ever wear it out I'll consoder replacing it with the proper parkerized, but it's fine as is.

My contribution. Colt a4 and a 5 ton (to the dude with a M35a3). Aimpoint PRO and a Matech back up, with the old noisy sling. Because I'm old like that.

Thinking I may go Canadian with it. I've got a N1 stock doing nothing. Also got a  M145 that's waitI g for its host to be finished and the Aimpoint goes on my tactical mackerel. I.E. I can't afford an ACOG or M5 ras yet. Must get gun ring for the truck and MG yet. Damn priorities.

Yep I wasn't even wearing hearing protection today.

It was pretty accurate out of the A4....but out of the M16A1 clone with the 1/12 twist barrel it was really accurate.

I totally agree. I'm pretty lucky to be a member to three gun clubs. I'm literally sandwiched between two each is 5 minutes away from my house. One is more of a open-format range where there is just a firing line at 200 yards. It does go back to 500 yards but you rarely ever get to go back beyond 200 yards because if you get there you setup and somebody shows up you have to move forward to the 200 yard line so that everybody gets to shoot.

The other club that is 5 minutes from my house has 17 shooting bays, ranging from 15 yards deep to 80 yards deep. Most of them range in the 20 to 40 yard width. That's where I shoot USPSA and steel challenge. So it's kind of fun to set up some walls and targets and play around in there. The downside to that range is no centerfire rifles. You can have PCC caliber rifles but that's it. So it's kind of nice to be able to go in there and do a 22 conversion kit in my ARs.

The third range I belong to is about 35-40 minutes away and you can shoot everything there. Which is why I belong there I can go up there and set up some walls set up some targets and do CQB type stuff with my SBRs.

I am actually going to use the conversion kit in my M16 A1 clone at the next steel match just for shits and giggles.

This is as close as I'm going to get because I hate quad rails.  It's a PSA premium #8818 with an FN roll marked barrel.

Decided to replace the reciever with a plainer PSA with no laser etching.

Bought the PSA nitride kit so I could put the carry handle on something.

Does anyone know offhand what the weight difference is between the standard A2 handguards and the M5 RAS?

Been a couple years since I posted on here. Sadly sold my two clones I built, but...... I am at it again! This time I TWO FN A2 barrels I snagged off the EE. Here is where I am at so far! Trying to finish the lower (Just got the A2 parts today). I am on the hunt for a beat to shit KAC M5 Ras if possible also. Cheaper the better, ha. I am going to use a Matech rear flip sight also. Until then, I am keeping the carry handle and A2 handgaurds on the gun.

Then...... I will hunt down another ACOG.

The second A2 barrel that was a 2005 in wrap barrel I am going to use on a A2 build. Got the handguards, just need to find a good upper.

Current Parts Manf.
Upper- Colt No M4 Ramps
Barrel- FN A2 Barrel
Lower- PSA, on the lookout to replace with a Colt AR15A4
BCG/CH- On the hunt for COLT BCG and CH.

I'm telling you, I like the idea of not installing the RAS.
Much lighter. Mine used to be configured with everything on it and it weighed so much that I'd take it out of the safe, look at myself in the mirror with it and put it right back. I'm not so young anymore to be able to maneuver around with it.

Plus I love it with the handle and standard hand guards.

Must say that it looks darn cool with the ACOG and kill flash all the rest being standard though. Still light but empowered by 4x optic power!

With a Dead Air Sandman S it sounds exactly the same as unsuppressed.

I was surprised. I know you aren't supposed to shoot rimfire through a non-serviceable can, but a few rounds won't hurt it.

Got to shoot my Colt a4 today. All I can say is, damn. I'd forgotten why I was in love with my service rifle. Such a sweet shooting weapon. I'll have to get the full kit at some point now. TA31, M5 ras, don't know about the sling as I'm partial to my noisy.

Reckon I'll put the M145 Elcan on my Mg42 when it's done. Then I'll need an acog, despite that I've never been overly fond of them.

Mg42. Semi auto, but with a binary trigger in it, you can still burn through a belt real damn fast. I'm waiting for a sacrificial top cover and a rail section to show up. Then I need the time to get it done. I also need to get some 7.62x51 barrel blanks and turned to to the right profile to do a Mg3 conversion.

Having all that weight is part of the fun and appeal of having an A4 clone! My stripped down RAS only weighs 5oz more than the plastic A2s I have, yet they feel a lot heavier. I feel like the A2's are more comfortable, but the RAS is a lot more gripy with the Pic rails digging into my hand.
