I just purchased a new bushmaster upper w/ izzy compensator and upon close inspection I noticed what appears to be a small crack or chip where the comp meets the barrel. Judging by the finish of the barrel it appears to actually be part of the comp but I'm not really sure. If it's just a cosmetic imperfection I really don't care but if it could possibly impact the performance or reliability of the barrel I'd be concerned. What do you guys think?

That's just the indexing washer. That is no problem.

That is a split ring lock washer, that is the way they look. If you want to get a peel washer, that would look solid all the way around, but they are for indexing the muzzle device, and yours doesn't need one.

Yea, just the spit ring washer, its normal but if you dont like it you can replace it with a crush washer, about a dollar from bushmaster.
