Bought a couple of Ameetec lowers with the M4 type rtractable stock and wonder if I have a good buffer (milspec) it functions flawlessly but I want the best mil spec buffer that I can get ,anyone know what is best ?

The buffer depends on your particular gun.  Some run better with a standard bufffer..some prefer a H, H1, H2 or 9mm buffer.  Just pick the one that works best for you.

Regarding quality of buffers, I haven't seen a bad one yet.

the AR has an LMT upper 16 inch with an LMT M16 bolt group in it and functions 100% now .I guess you might call it a M4 clone of sorts .will a differant buffer that was designed for a M4 make it preform better as far as bolt speed and lock time?

Again, it depends on your particular rifle.  If your rifle runs fine as-is, then I'd leave it alone.

Are you referring to the receiver extension aka "buffer tube" or weighted internal buffer?

I'm trackin' now.

Like DRich said, if it's running 100% then no need to mess with it.

You must be new.
Back in the good old days (mid 90's), there were plastic buffers filled with lead shot.
These were common from the gun show parts sellers...

Yep...just started shooting AR's in the late '70's, so I got a late invite to the party.

Guess I was lucky to miss those gems...but then, I never buy crap from Cletus at his gunshow booth.

You chose wisely.
