I just found you folks and have been lurking in the shadows for a few days feeling out the board. I like what I see. The amount of information being shared is phenominal and very enlightening. I have been shooting competitively for almost 5 years. I have shoe the M-1Garand and the AR-15. I must say that for power to weight ratio I prefer the AR ofer any other weapon I have shot for score. I also shoot 8mm Mauser and 7.62X54R for some antique firearms matches. I had one mathc that was open to any firearm that was of a military configuration. I shot all three, My Turkish 8MM, My Mosin Nagant M-44, and my AR-15. The AR greatly outscored the old school weapons and won me the match with a score of 150-9X out of a possible 150-15X. Gotta luv it.My AR-15 is a Bushmaster that I purchased from the Marine Corps Exchange in Norfolk, Va. as a used range weapon. Someone already broke it in for me.
