My lower is a LCW. I'm curious, are Lauer Custom Weaponry lowers still made my LMT?

I think they are.

I bought a LCW lower to go with an LMT upper I already had.  It wasn't until after I made the purchase I read somewhere that the lower is manufactured by LMT.  This is just second had info though so I would love to hear other input as well.

Yes they are.  I asked this question directly to Mr. Lauer (Steve as I recall) during a telecon with them.  Their lowers are popular here in CA right now as what we call "off-list lowers".

Thanks. Does "off list" mean they dont need the fixed magazine etc?

I thought they were contracted through LAR now

Lauer used to have their lowers manufactured by LMT, then Superior and now LAR.  The drop in quality was enough for some dealers (Ranier Arms) to drop the product.  Maybe very recently they went back to LMT...or not.

I got one of the eariler Lauer lowers from Ranier when they were still made by LMT.  The reason I know, it is LMT's custom shade of purple....

i have one of the older LMT machined ones. the machining is absolutely top-notch (only my mega is nicer in that department), but the color is awful. it is brighter purple then any bushmaster could have wished to be. i'm typically not a big stickler for my uppers and lowers matching, but that one makes me cringe every time i see it.

when i finally get some cash, i'm going to replace that lower with something else, and use it to build an SPR. i have it in my mind that my SPR will end up with a paint job...

weird. i had no idea LMT had a reputation for putting out purple parts. i bought my LCW lower because everyone talked about them being LMT machined. i just figured it was finished by LCW, and they screwed it up a bit...

Russ, how long ago was this conversation?
My Lauer lower purchased earlier this year is a Superior Arms.

Yea, John confirmed for me when I ordered that it was an LMT with Lauers name on it.  The purple is not bad.  You can see it when you shine a flashlight on it in the safe.  Glows like a night light......
