Unless your looking for a precision AR I wouldn't go match trigger and you can get a nice complete lower buit for 300 and less.
What upper your planning to match it with is something that might effect your choice with finish and fit, but you'll find some good prices from the Arfcom sponsor dealers here.
I'd suggest going to the industry section and just looking through sites till you find what you like best.

I'd probably look around for a DPMS complete lower.  While some people have issues with past problems, and possibly with some of their uppers/barrels, their lowers are excellent quality and very nice finish.

I believe Brownell's has them for around $275.

I picked up a DPMS complete lower locally for $250 OTD.  I see Ameetec has a special on their complete lowers for $200, not including FFL.

I wouldn't overlook the EE. You can find some great deals there if you just look every once and a while.
You could easily buy a complete AR from someone here and just have it transfered through your FFL for the cost of that one time transfer fee which should be about 25 bucks.

Try LAN Wordl in Utah.  They have complete Stag lowers for less than $300.00  That is where I got mine.  Of course it costs more as I live in California and hve to jump through some tiny hoops to get a legal AR15

so far i am looking at this set up from PK firearms.

Sabre Defence 6 Position Lower Halve

DPMS 16 inch M4 upper

would that turn out to be a decent rifle? im not looking for a battle rifle (already have one) or any thing like that just a decent accurate fairly cheap ar 15.

I believe you will be completely happy with that setup.

I am in Winfield MO. I dont like the look of the standard stock but if I had to I would go with one (especialy if it drops the price)

I'm not looking for any thing special just somthing that functions and hopefully has a bayo lug and threaded bbl.

Are there any other combos I should look at in that price range?

ETA it will be a while before i could afford either part but im am doing some shopping around in the mean time.

Well EKLYPSE I should have read closer, it appears your wanting a complete weapon, not just the lower.

My advice for you would be to get your money rounded up and get one of CMMG's trash can guns next time they are over your way at a gunshow.  Last I knew, they were charging $550 each for them and they come in multiple configurations.  Don't let the name fool you, the trash can guns are 100% functional.  They get their name from being displayed in a blue plastic barrel at the gunshows.  I'm not sure if they are still doing this, but if they are, a big bonus to buying one of these rifles is that after you shoot it a while, just save your receipt and you can trade it back in and get the full $550 credited towards a new rifle (this only works when dealing straight with CMMG, not by ordering through your local dealer).  CMMG also has a few new products not listed on their website yet that would be in the same price range as what you're looking at from PK.  The new CMMG rifles come with a lifetime warrenty.  What kind of warranty are you getting on that unit from PK.  From reading PK's website, it looks like PK only stands behind what they sell if you don't use it and keep it in the package it came in.  Here's a copy and paste from their site:

Return Policy
1. All products are new and under warranty. Once product is used, please contact manufacturer for product defects.

2. All returns must be requested by Phone or Email within 7 days of delivery.

3. All returns must have a Return Authorization Number assigned to them.

4. The item must be new, unused and in the original packaging.

5. Shipping cost for returns/exchanges are not reimbursable.

6. Non-defective returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee.

The rifle you mentioned will have at least 3 manufacters to keep track of

If you order from PK; the rifle you mentioned would cost at least $720 (I used the cheapest options listed that would result in a complete usable rifle) plus you would have to add shipping and pay a local dealer to do the transfer.

that's my .02

If you order from PKFirearms there will not be state sales tax, but you will have to pay shipping.  So it depends how far you have to drive to CMMG.  And on lower will need a local FFL and what their fee is.  If you are buying upper, No sales tax and can be shipped to your door from PKFirearms.
Good luck in your search.

Yeah, they're still doing the trash can guns.  They had them at the KCI show last weekend.  They did have plenty of them, but be advised, they're all on DPMS lowers (or at least they were last weekend), so don't expect a complete CMMG gun.  Still a fine value, though.

Yea, that's where I was headed.  They aren't a perfect rifle, but EKLYPSE mentioned just wanting a reliable weapon and the trash can rifles are that.

Even if he did drive to CMMG's factory, by my calculations he would still be saving ~$100 over the PK setup he mentioned.  The PK setup he's looking at doesn't come with any magazines, but I bet if he ask CMMG nicely they would throw in a mag with a trash can rifle (I saw this happen once).

So if saving money is the option, other than finding a great deal on a used rifle somewhere, I don't know of any better options that the CMMG trash can rifle.  Especially if you wait for them to be at a gun show in your area to save on gas.

Where are the gunshows around Lincoln county I dont want to have to drive across the state to get to one. I just moved here in january and it will be a couple months if not longer before I get all my bills caught up and get some money saved before I could buy either part. Till then I will be looking for lowers and uppers anywhere I can to find a decent price.
