Hey all, forgive me if this isn't in the right section, move it wherever it should be.  I just picked up my first AR 2 days ago from a personal friend. Its a RRA Elite CAR A4, he owned it for 3-4 months, approx 150 Remington rounds through it.

My question is concerning the hand guard. What options do I have?

I measured the stock guard, its 8"....everywhere I look they only have 7, 9, 10, 11, 12.

I like the LaRue guard combo's they have, that includes rail covers and a foregrip, but what length do I get? 7" or 9"?

Am I going to need a different front site with a 9" handguard? I kinda want it to look like this (without the EOTech and AimPoint obviously)

If your rifle has the carbine length gas system then the 7" should work. I believe the RRA Elite CAR A4 is a midlength, so you should be able to use the 9".

Someone will be along shortly to confirm this though.... I may be wrong.

It has the mid length handgaurd so the LaRue 9 will work.
