Is it as easy as unscrewing it and screwing a new one on?

If you have a good way of clamping your barrel it is...

Yep..just be sure you have a new crush/peel washer on hand, unless you're installing a Vortex.  You can probably re-use your existing washer without any harm, but replacements are cheap.

However, if you have a barrel with a permanently attached brake/FH, you'll have to do a bit more work to remove it.

OK, this is what I was looking for.

So, I have a fluted barrel so I should be able to get a good grip on it without crushing it in a vise. Which way do I turn it? Just like unscrewing a bottlecap?

Yep...righty-tighty, lefty-loosey.

Don't clamp directly to the barrel.  Use a vise block or some other way to keep the finnish from getting messed up.
