I've got an AR15 w/ a Bushmaster V-Match Upper. It has a smooth, free-floating handguard. I do NOT want to remove it to drill a hole in it for a stud to mount a bipod. Are there other alternatives? Somebody mentioned in another thread something about a bipod mount which attaches to the bayonet lug? Something like that I could do....but I'd rather not ship my upper off the Bushmaster, take my scope off of it, etc. to do it. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks |

If you install a bipod on the bayo mount it will completely defeat the purpose of having a free floated barrel. The easiest thing would be to drill a hole in it to mount the stud to it which can be done without removing it if you are careful. Other than that, you would have to rig something up yourself such as some kind of ring to clamp around the FF tube. |
Yeah...Bushmaster offers one with the hole already drilled, but I didn't specify when I ordered it, so I kinda was screwed from the beginning. I guess I'll have to send it back to have it drilled. I just built two ARs from the ground-up and I'm just pissed that I've got to send one off before I can really enjoy it. he http://content.imagesocket.com/thumbs/MynewARsc8e.jpg |

Cheap, light weight and effective. cheap bipod I have used one with my AR-10. Prone position, 350 yards, hit bowling pins 8 out of 10 shots. Accurate enough for me. But for a long range shooter I would definately opt for a better bipod. +1 on the Punisher. Next build will definately go with a "Punisher" lower. |
