I know, I know brakes are bad, but I need to perm. attach something to my pre-ban and no FH's here.  The branson at DPMS looks fairly close to an A2 +/- and from the pictures of the end appears not to be opened up like a FH.  Does anyone know if these are considered brakes?  If not any suggestions that won't make me the most hated guy on the line or ruin the astetics of my beautiful EBR.

YHM has a Phantom brake.  That's one of the few that will keep you over 16" if your barrel is a 14.5".  I know there are some extended look alike A2 brakes also.  Another brake is the AK Concepts....now Primary Weapons IIRC DTNC (or however they say it) brake.  Dunno if it's long enough though.

Thanks for the quick response 5.0.  My barrel is already 16" so lenght isn't the issue, I need to get post-ban legal.  I checked out the Ak Concepts and they look sweet.  Does anyone have positive or negative experiances with them?

here is the thing about the branson brake. Its diameter is 22mm, which makes it compatible as a grenade launcher. If you are living in a ban state, check your local laws. In NY, it is a NO GO. Pretty stupid huh?

That is stupid.  And since I live in a ban state looks like the branson is out.  However, the more research I do on the DNTC it's got me excited along with the recent ATF approval I think I'm sold.

Really?  Could you provide associated documentation?  I'd love to read it.
