Is there a tool to adjust the front sight?

Yes,

Just about every company that sells AR parts has the front sight adjustment tool.  It looks like a round knob with some square teeth on the small end to depress the front sight pin.  There are specific tools for the A2 square front sight and A1 round sight.  Some models even have combined the two.

These are just two examples I found, but almost everyone stocks them.

Agree with all the above.  The original front sight and rear sight were designed to be adjusted with the point of a bullet.  The A1 style front sights with the round post, have five detent slots; the A2 style with the square post, have four detent slots.  You can do it with any sort of pointy thingy; the tools make it much easier.

I've always found it difficult to do with a bullet tip. The first time I went to qualify one of the range NCO's had a box of finishing nails he was passing around, which worked pretty well. An ink pen might also work.

The last time I adjusted my front sight post I used a heavy nail.  I wanted to ram said nail through my freaking skull.  I'm going to be getting me a front sight post adjustor.
