I am looking for some suggestions for a stock for my new AR Build, I am looking for a collapsable, but am not sure if I should just go with the standard AR stock or maybe a MAGPUL for a few dollars more.  Any suggestions or tips would be great.  Thanks!

The minimum should be an M4 type stock.
If you want to upgrade look at the LMT SOPMOD.

Personally, I prefer the VLTOR modstocks.

LMT SOPMOD and MAGPUL CTR are two good choices as well. It is hard to go wrong with any of these three.

Of course, the type of build you are doing would tend to dictate the type of stock you would want/ need to use.

SOPMOD if you want to spend alot of money.  Magpul CTR if you want to spend less.

I say go with the CTR. They're light weight, come in a variety of colors, and they're durable. They also lock up, and are about as rigid as an A2 stock. You can buy a whole kit for $150 at most places, or just the stock itself $92 in most instances. The SOPMOD is great, but very pricey. Unless you want to store batteries, go with a CTR.

How is the checkweld on the Vltor or LMT compared to the Magpul. Seems more surface area than Magpul.

The stockweld on the CTR is better than a standard c-stock. On the SOPMOD it's the best.
