Just purchased one of these, this makes the thired rear sight I'd purchased for my new build.

Does anyone here know much about Matech Buis?

What do you want to know?

The rear sight start a 200 yards, can these be adjusted for 100 yards & under?

Can I use my standard front sight post?

I zeroed mine IAW the manufacturers instructions and left it like that. It’s zeroed at 25m and that was good enough for me at close range. I have a BM .040 taller FSP installed from my previous CCH BUIS and never had to touch the elevation during zero. I just swapped out my MATECH today for an ARMS #40L-P.

I have one, and with it set on 200 it hits fine for me at 100yds. or less. I do believe its ARMY issue. We had M16A2s so I never got to play with an M4 or its accessories. Seems pretty nice and rugged to me.

Mongo’s replacement parts kits are perfect for those who can’t follow written instructions.

I set mine on the 200 setting and zeroed using the 50yd Improved Battle Sight Zero (IBSZ). POA/POI at 50 YARDS and it gives you a nice flat trajectory of no more than + or - 2" out to about 220 METERS.

I believe that this sight is used on the SDM-R.

Using that method, did the other range settings still coincide with their actual POI?

ETA: If you zero the MATECH any way other than IAW the manufacturers instructions, doesn’t that defeat the whole purpose of using the MATECH as a BUIS? I’m thinking that would throw off all the other range settings. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Okay, rain on my parade why don't ya! Yes, it probably nullifies the other range settings. BUT, I like the IBSZ and I wanted a Matech (actually, it was given to me by a "friend" with access). Every uber-tacticool GI-wannabe M4gery has to have a Matech to be authentic don't ya know! To hell with it's intended use! Bring on the IBSZ......

Most of the Matechs are US property.

I "know of a guy" that got into some measure of trouble for selling a bunch out of an arms room on the internet...

I have wondered about them as well...........I need a rear sight for my M-4, and I cannot really decide which one I want.............I am down to the Troy, Larue, Matech and GG&G A-2.........I have heard that the Matechs are fragile, but that doesnt seem right considering they are in the sandbox

Cant wait till mine get here, their not all that fragile, unless you you over tighten, while installing them. ( so I heard)
